Adidas partnered with First Friday at Abbot Kinney to create an interactive photo experience that captured the energy of the community while reinforcing the brand’s streetwear identity. The goal was to design an activation that felt bold, social, and community-driven, giving guests a premium, shareable keepsake that extended the experience beyond the event itself.

Rather than a standard event photo setup, Adidas elevated the experience with a dedicated Social Photographer capturing high-quality moments throughout the event. Guests received professionally shot images delivered digitally in real time, driving participation, foot traffic, and immediate social engagement.

Challenges

  1. Creating an activation that felt elevated inside a retail store environment
  2. Standing out during a high-traffic First Friday event with multiple competing brand experiences
  3. Ensuring strong brand visibility without overpowering the guest experience
  4. Managing high guest volume efficiently while maintaining premium image quality
  5. Delivering instant digital sharing to maximize real-time social amplification

Customization

To create a cohesive and high-impact experience, the activation featured:

  • Custom Adidas-branded backdrop
  • Branded polaroid-style photo border
  • Custom microsite for digital image hosting and brand continuity

Every touchpoint, from capture to delivery, was designed to reinforce the Adidas aesthetic and create a seamless branded moment.
